Richard 'Neal' Carbonara, 92, of Cuero, TX passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born on October 10, 1919 in New York, New York to Michael and Aurelia Corbacho Carbonara. He married Rosemary V. Ryan on December 28, 1946 in New York City. Before coming to Cuero, Neal was a data processing manager in New York. He became an insurance agent after moving to Cuero and retired after 30 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary Carbonara; daughters, Rosemary A. Bitterly of El Lago, TX, Roberta M. Blank (Chuck) of Cuero, Rheta V. Williams (Mike) of Cuero, Regina A. Koenig (Stanley) of Victoria, and Rhonda F. Jasso (Raymond) of Brookshire, TX; sons, Richard N. Carbonara, Jr. (Chris) of Cuero, Raymond J. Carbonara (Lori) of Seminole, FL, Russell T. Carbonara of Cuero, and Ryan P. Carbonara of Spring, TX; sister, Norma Mulqueen of Sun City, TX; brothers, Gerard J. Carbonara of Dunwoody, GA, and Michael P. Carbonara of Cummings, GA; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, with two on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Virginia L. Carbonara, sister, Aurelia Musarra; brother, Joseph Carbonara; son-in-law, Joseph Bitterly; and daughters-in-law, Marjorie and Linda Carbonara.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Services will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Cuero with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include William Carbonara, Gregory Bitterly, Joseph Bitterly, Daniel Blank, David Blank, Douglas Blank, Robert Neal Williams, and Brian Williams.
Honorary pallbearers include Julia Stafford, Diana Blank, Donna Blank, Kim Koenig, Michelle Koenig, Stephanie Koenig, Allison Koenig, Carmel Jasso, Shelby Jasso, Rachael Byrne, Christine Harper, Cathy McKnight, Brian Carbonara, and Joey Carbonara.
