![]() Cuero, Emelia Parma, 92, of Cuero passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 5, 2008. She was born in Yorktown, February 9, 1916, to Steve and Sophie Hahn Zielonka. She married Ben Parma, Sr. on November 22, 1932 in Westhoff. Emelia was a homemaker, a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Meyersville, and a member of a small community club named Copy Kats. She was engaged in farming and ranching along with her husband and she enjoyed her vegetable garden. She loved dancing and polka music. Emelia lived for her family and dearly loved family gatherings She is survived by 2 daughters; Ellen Stary and husband Harvey of Cuero, and Linda Jacob and husband Jeff of Cuero, 3 sons; Ben L. Parma, Jr. and wife Joyce of Goliad, Ernest (Pete) Parma of Cuero, and Larry Parma and wife Mickey of Cuero, sisters; Irene Orsak of Denton, Ella Barber of Cuero, Corrine Zengerle of Freeport, Mary Jo Granz of Shiner, a brother; Herbert (Jack) Zielonka of Yorktown, and 18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 55 years Ben Parma, Sr., sons; Alvin Parma and Jerry Parma, sister; Delores Smith, brothers; Eddie Zielonka, Joe Zielonka, Alvin (Tully) Zielonka and Emil Zielonka, and a grandchild; Craig Schley. Visitation will be Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Freund Funeral Home Chapel, 5:30pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be Sunday, June 8, 2008, 2:00pm, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Meyersville with Father Frank Lenz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero. Pallbearers: Arlen Parma, Gary Parma, Mike Parma, Ben Parma, Keith Parma, Bruce Parma, Kenny Parma, Kevin Parma and Colton Jacob. Honorary Pallbearers: all remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Building Fund.
