Abbie Oleane Rode, 88, of Cuero passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014.  She was born August 10, 1925 in Moffat to the late Lon and Abbie Hunt Owens.  Abbie married her late husband, Charles H. Rode on August 23, 1962 in Kerrville.  She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Texas Department of Health for 15 years.  Abbie was an avid artist and a devote Christian.

She is survived by her son, Jackie Lott and wife, Martha Jo, of Cuero; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Jane Lott of Cuero; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; son, James Lott; sisters, Dorothy Kennedy and Linnie Klinzing; and brother, Lon Owens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  Services will be Thursday, March 27, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. Deborah Irvin and Pastor John Mueller officiating.  Interment will follow at Bateman Cemetery in Red Rock at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers include Michael Lane Lott, Wayman Dean Lott, Dustin Wade Lott, Gordon Ray Lott, Alan Michael Grohman, and Dustin Kenne.

Honorary pallbearers include US Army SPC Bowdrie Lane Lott, Cody Alan Grohman, Aaron James Grohman, and Jimmy Nelson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
