Agnes Johanna Koenig, 97, of Cuero passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012. She was born on June 7, 1915 in Weser, Texas to Gottlieb and Sophie Jacob. She married Mertes Koenig. She worked at J.C. Penney as a sales clerk for 18 years and was also a member of the Altar Society and Ladies Auxillary VFW.

She is survived by sons, Jim Koenig and wife, Laurie, Michael Koenig and wife, Sandy; and her grandchildren, Nick Koenig and wife, Kim, Kyle Koenig, Jeff Koenig, Lisa Cortinas and husband, Jamie, and Andrew Koenig; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Kaden, and Kaitlyn.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Mertes Koenig; brothers, Alfonse, Erwin, and Edgar Jacob; sisters, Lorene Fabish, Thresa Kornfuehrer, and Elenora Stauss.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2012 from 6-8 pm with a rosary starting at 7 pm at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 10 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Kyle Koenig, Nick Koenig, Jeff Koenig, Lisa Cortinas, Jamie Cortinas, and Darwin Jacob.
