Obituary

A.J. 'Jeffie' Biggs, 89, of Cuero passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. He was born October 28, 1920 in Alice to the late Alvah Jefferson and Mattie Francis Parker Biggs. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in World War II. After the war, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Alice until retiring to be a full-time rancher. Jeffie was a former member of the Alice Postal Service and the VFW in Alice.

He is survived by daughters, Judy Raglin and husband, Buster, of Cuero, Sandy Roby of Cuero, and Debbie Kegley and husband, Cecil , of Westhoff; sisters, Betty Ingram of Longview, Helen Draper of Alice, and Wanda Webb of Irving; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Elna Morse; son, Weldon Roby; brothers, Ewell & Kempe Biggs; sisters, Mattie Machlar, Alice Baker, and Rowena Small; and two grandsons.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Clinton Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Allan Roby, Michael Hendrick, Shannon Hendrick, Shawn Raglin, Ronnie Hendrick, and Billy Hendrick.

Honorary pallbearers include Tek Roby, Michael Bressler, Roxi Baros, and Melissa Hendrick.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Cuero.
