Obituary

Albert Stolleis, 87, of Yorktown entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in Cuero. He was born June 28, 1923 in Lindenau to the late Herman C. and Anna Leubert Stolleis. After serving in the United States Army during World War II, he worked for the Cuero Butane Company for 15 years. He was also a farmer/rancher working in the cattle industry for many years. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and St. John's Lutheran Church in Westhoff.

He is survived by his sister, Olga Holten and sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Pickels and Rosemary Stolleis; niece, Sherri Wagner; nephews, Alan and Karl Stolleis; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter Stolleis; and his companion, Elsa Bongiovi.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, July 9, 2010, 2 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Lindenau Community Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Westhoff, Lindenau Community Cemetery, or a charity of your choice.
