Albert 'Big Daddy' Wade, 79, of Cuero passed away Friday, March 4, 2011. He was born October 26, 1931 in Placedo to the late Rev. Albert Wade Sr. and Thelma Wade. He married Adlaida Edolia McNary Wade on June 19, 1955 in DeWitt County. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a maintenance supervisor at Union Carbide until he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; daughters, Yvonne Wade and Vanessa Wade, both of Cuero; sons, Albert Wade III and Edward Wade Sr., both of Cuero; sisters, Marry Herron Alexander of Austin and Larrell Deveraux of Dallas; brothers, Frank, Tom, and Amagie Wade, all of Houston, Terry Wade and his wife, Jo Ann, of Victoria, and Jessie Wade and wife, Brenda, of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Deborah Wade; sister-in-law, Illee of Houston; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and aunts, Leola Johnson of Sacramento, Calif., Sylvia Johnson of Victoria, and Birdella Harris of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rev. John Clifton Wade; sister, Doris Willis; and brother, JC Wade.
Visitation will be Friday, March 11, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday, March 12, 2011, 1 p.m., at Mt. Zion District Association with Rev. Lawrence G. Roy II officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Albert Wade IV, Edward Wade Jr, Shaquil Wade, Jon T. Wade, Darryl Black, Andre Ball, Kevin McNary, and Emmett Glover.
