Alice Jo Scheibe, 86, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017. She was born in Yorktown on March 6, 1931 to the late Joe and Louella Thamm Drapalla. Alice retired as an insurance supervisor with Cuero Federal Savings (TrustTexas Bank) after 37 years of service. She was a Pink Lady volunteer at Cuero Hospital gift shop, enjoyed reading, and loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Julius W. Scheibe, Jr.; son, Charles Wittmer and wife, Saralee, of Bowie; sister, Patsy Snoga of New Braunfels; brother, Victor Drapalla of New England; grandson, Charles Robert Wittmer and wife, Meagan, of Fort Worth; and great-grandsons, Charles Henry and Maxwell Keane Wittmer. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Drapalla; and sister, Joyce Drapalla Morgan.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Freund Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Wes Dukes officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic School.
