Alvaro G. Muniz, Age 63, of Cuero passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012. He was born February 19, 1949 in Cuero to Erlinda G. Trevino and the late Braulio Muniz. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed watching baseball, playing drums, and reading. He was also a Laboratory Tech and a Mason.

He is survived by his mother, Erlinda G. Trevino; step-father, Abel Trevino; sisters, Mary Alice Torres and husband, Guadalupe, of Houston, Elizabeth Ruiz and husband, David, of Cuero, and Lindy DeLeon and husband, Ray, of Cuero; and brother, Manuel G. Muniz and wife, Lucy, of Yoakum.

He was preceded in death by his father Braulio Muniz; sister, Mary Ann Carmona; infant sister, Mary Alice Trevino, and brother-in-law, Albert Carmona.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6-8 pm with a prayer service beginning at 7 pm at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, 2 pm, at El Buen Pastor in Cuero with Rev. Chano officiating. Interment will follow at San Pedro Cemetery in Concrete.

Pallbearers include: Stewart Markgraf, Meliton Gomez, Francisco Gonzales, Tony Medina, Shawn Sandefur, and Marc Aguilar.

Honorary pallbearers include: Willie Smith and Jim Camper.
