Obituary

Alvin Otto Schroller, 91, of Cuero passed away Monday, March 18, 2013. He was born May 7, 1921 in Cabeza Community near Nordheim to the late Otto Antone and Mary Annie Kneifel Schroller. He married his beloved wife Doris Marie Harwood Schroller on June 29, 1947 in Cuero. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero since 1950 where he taught Sunday school and served on the church council for 6 years. He served his country in the army during World War II in the South Pacific, was a life member of American Legion and VFW and worked for DeWitt Electric Coop for 37 years. After retirement from the coop, he was a self-employed electrician for 18 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce A. Schroller of Cuero; grandchildren, Mary Bade and Richard Bade and wife, Jodi; great-grandchildren, Luke, Neko, Alexander Bade; and sister, Maurine Flessner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris Schroller of 64 years; son, Allan W. Schroller; and brothers, Felton and Leroy Schroller.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Karl Biermann officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Dennis Schroller, Douglas Flessner, J G Hunnam, Norman Kieke, and Carson Richards.
