Andrew Alan Bishop was born September 3, 1977, in San Benito, Texas, the charming son of John Doran and Karen Suzanne Bishop.  He passed away from this life November 23, 2024, in Cuero, Texas at the age of 47.

Andrew grew up a country boy in the Valley, busy making mud pies, riding on the tractor, and playing in irrigation ditches on the farm.  He loved walking through the cotton field to Grandma and Grandad Bishop's house every day after school where Grandma would have something freshly cooked to eat.  Grandma Bishop's food stirred an immense love for cooking in Andrew.

From the Valley, Andrew moved with his family to the Hill Country where he played football, bailed hay, hunted deer, learned to weld, and made an abundance of friends.  After high school, Andrew began working in the oil field.  He also crafted innumerable beautiful butcher blocks, tables, and other wooden masterpieces.  He became an avid cook, especially when paired with social gatherings.  As an adult, the highlights of his life were his sons' sporting events.

Andrew was a man of strong convictions.  He believed in being a good provider for his family.  Football was life.  He wholeheartedly protected children.  In food, the more flavor, the merrier.  Nature, fishing, camping, and hunting were to be shared with family and friends for making memories.  He even considered Crocs to be fashionable footwear.

Andrew leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Bryce, Brance, and Blaze; parents, John Bishop and Karen Bishop; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Gilbert Alvarez, and JoAnna and Eric Collier; nephews and niece, Lindon Collier, Michael Barrueto, Jocelyn Collier, Jonathan Barrueto, Gavin Collier, Gilbert Alvarez, and Calvin Collier; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Andrew will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, 2:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home, 213 N. Gonzales St., Cuero, TX  77954.
