Annie Devereaux Ybarra, 83, of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was born February 12, 1931 in Cuero to the late Alfred and Merced Castillo Devereaux. She married Esiquio Ybarra Sr. on June 5, 1949 in Cuero. Annie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a Guadalupana. She enjoyed going to bingo, taking trips to Coushatta, and quilting. Her favorite pastime was playing ball with her children, cooking meals for family gatherings, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years; daughters, Janie Partida of Cuero and Cynthia (Billy) Raybion of Victoria; sons, Alfred (Grace) Ybarra of Pasadena, Albert (Elma) Ybarra of Victoria, Ray Ybarra of Victoria, Ernest (Debbie) Ybarra of Houston, Herman (Elvira) Ybarra of Yorktown, and Esiquio (Maggie) Ybarra Jr. of Ganado; 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Julia Delgado and Fannie Devereaux; brother, Gilbert Devereaux, grandchildren, Christopher Lee Ybarra, David Partida, and Belinda Ortiz; and great-grandchildren, Gaven Bowles, Nicolas Ybarra, and Roel Chacon III.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015, 1:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
Pallbearers include John Partida, Mark Ybarra, Raymond Ybarra Jr., Billy Ortiz, Jonathon Ybarra, Kolbe Ybarra, Jay Ybarra, and Brandon Ybarra.
