Antonia Platzke, a native of Texas and a 23 year resident of Twentynine Palms, California died on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Palms Springs, California at Desert Regional Medical Center. She was 60. Mrs. Platzke was born September 10, 1948 in Cuero, Texas to Jose and Marcella Jaso. She worked for 10 years as a special education aide with Morongo Unified School District before retiring in 2005.

Mrs. Platzke is survived by her husband of 34 years, Herman W. Platzke of Twentynine Palms; daughters, Melissa Bullion and husband Vincent of Twentynine Palms and Ann Marie Platzke of Twentynine Palms; son, Herman Platzke, Jr. of Twentynine Palms; her mother and stepfather, Marcella and Alfred Aleman of Cuero; brothers, Jay Jaso of San Diego, California and Ernest Jaso and his wife, Lena of Cuero, and Rudy Jaso of Cuero; stepbrother, Sherman Aleman of Cuero; stepbrother, Sandy and stepsister, Lisa of Yoakum; brother-in-law, Robert Platzke of Annapolis, Maryland; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Shoemaker of Great Mills, Maryland; and six grandchildren, Makya, Micah, Mya, and Mehki, children of Vincent and Melissa Bullion, and Journey and Jersey, children of Ann Marie Platzke.

Visitation and prayers for family and friends will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cuero followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association and National Kidney Foundation of Southern California.
