Arturo Cruz, 72, of Yoakum passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024.  He was born September 18, 1951 in Ralls to the late Santiago and Mary Salazar Cruz.  Arturo married Leanne Dunn on September 20, 1999 in Bacliff.

Arturo is survived by his loving wife, Leanne Cruz; the mother of his four children, Rosa Linda Banda Alvidrez; daughters, Velma Schutte and husband, Shane, of Cozad, NE and Doreen Dempsey and husband, Jessie, of Dickinson; sons, Adam Cruz and wife, Adrianna, of Abilene and Jacob Cruz and wife, Allison, of Pearland; stepdaughter, Ariana Jessica Breaud of Lafayette, LA; stepson, Daniel John Burke of Denver, CO; sisters, Sylvia Nino, Margie Pena, and Patricia Cruz; brothers, Gilbert Cruz and Armando Cruz; grandchildren, Caleb Cruz of Stephenville, Brittany Cruz of Fort Worth, Liliana Cruz of Pearland, Wyatt Schutte of McCool Junction, NE, Samantha Schutte of Cozad, NE, Alexander Dempsey of Dickinson, and Cecilia Dempsey of Dickinson; and great-grandchildren, Karyme Carolina Cruz and Charlotte Anastatia Cruz, both of Stephenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jane "Janie" Munoz; brothers, Marcus Cruz and Albert Cruz; and granddaughter, Savannah Cruz.

Visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1 pm with a service to follow at 2 pm.
