Arvie J. Davis Jr., 74, of Cuero, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at Citizens Medical Center. He was born Feb. 25, 1936 in Rockingham, N.C. to the late Lillian Davis and Arvie J. Davis Sr. He married Aurora Davis on March 2, 1957 in Cuero. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his sons, Rory A. Davis of Avondale, Ariz. and Robert T. Davis of Victoria; sisters, Brenda Barbour, Linda
Buckingham, and Janice McKinnon, all of Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; brother, Edward Davis of Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; and grandchildren, Aaron M. Davis and Ashley A. Davis, both of Avondale, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his son, Arvie J. Davis III.

Visitation and rosary will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Freund Funeral Home, with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
