Bartholo 'Bart' Martinez Jr., 42, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  He was born May 29, 1980 in Cuero to Bartholo Martinez Sr. and Elisa Barbontin.  Bart worked in Maintenance at Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He enjoyed going fishing and woodworking – particularly making cabinets.  Bart was best known for being a Momma's boy.  His favorite past time was being a Ladies Man and making babies.

He is survived by his mother, Elisa (Albert) Gutierrez; daughters, Marissa Martinez of Victoria, Serenity Martinez of Victoria and Madison Martinez of Cuero; sons, Elisha Sixtos of Yorktown, Brendon Martinez of Cuero, Brennan Martinez of Cuero, Bartholo Pete Martinez of Cuero and Ezio Lee Martinez of Cuero; his oldest by a minute twin brother, Charlie (Maria) Martinez Sr. of Cuero, his little brother, Joe (Danielle) Martinez of Cuero and Christopher Rodriguez of Cuero as well as three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bartholo Martinez Sr. and brother, Mario Lee Martinez.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 6:30 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Richard Bediako officiating.  Interment will follow at San Miguel Cemetery in Thomaston.

Pallbearers include Pete Barbontin, Paul Barbontin Jr., Reagan DeLosSantos, Roy Barbontin, David Arzate, Charlie Martinez Sr. and Brennan Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers include Joe Martinez, Alianna Martinez, David Kacir, Quincy Harvey and Domingo Maldonado.
