Beryl C. Koenig, 89, a long time resident of Cuero passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She was born on October 24, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Albert Collin and Susie Mae Tomlinson. She married her beloved Louis J. Koenig on May 29, 1949 in Rockport, Texas. Beryl spent most of her teaching career at P.I.S.D. in Pasadena, Texas. She came to Cuero in 1993 and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. In recent years, she lived in Victoria and Cypress, Texas. She is survived by her sons; Larry Koenig of Austin, Steven Koenig of Cuero, James Koenig of Seguin, and David Koenig of Cypress, daughters; Cynthia Koenig of New Braunfels, Marilyn Bourque of Pasadena, Frances Rowan of San Antonio, and Jennifer Valero of Houston; and 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; Louis J. Koenig, parents; Albert Collin and Susie Mae Tomlinson, and sisters; Phyllis McBride and Joyce Olander. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero. Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
