Obituary

Betty Jean Gossett, 83, was born December 3, 1931, in Martin, Tennessee to the late Loyce and Laverne Sullivan. She married Dr. J.W. Gossett on June 12, 1952 in Martin, Tennessee. She devoted her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a successful entrepreneur, and was a major part of many businesses and organizations such as, Ful-O-Pep Feeds, Gossett Family (Rental properties & Cattle Operation), Blooming Deals Resale Shop, Camal House Board, as well as many committees at the First Presbyterian Church. Being as busy as she was, she was never too busy to spend time with her beloved lady bridge players, family and friends.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa Voelkel, and husband Kelly, of Houston; sons, Greg Gossett, and wife Sara, of Cuero, Jeff Gossett, and wife Diane, of Mansfield; brother-in-laws, Dr. Pete Gossett, and wife Marj, of Knoxville, TN, Dr. Billy Gossett, and wife Mary Lou, of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Amanda Freeman, of Dallas, Amber Gossett, of San Antonio, Haley Gossett, of College Station, Brett Gossett, Cameron Gossett, both of Fort Worth, Caroline Gossett, of San Marcos, Kaitlynn Voelkel, of Houston, Shane Foster, of Mansfield, Jake Foster, of Atlanta, GA, Luke Foster, of Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Callie Freeman and Collin Freeman, both of Dallas, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Freund Funeral Home, from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Cuero, with Rev. Bill Cotman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Brett Gossett, Cameron Gossett, Greg Freeman, Fielding Hickey, Ken Klimitchek and Dennis Jemelka.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dewitt Medical Foundation, Cuero Boys and Girls Club, Cuero Livestock Show, in memory of Betty & Dr. J.W. Gossett.
