Betty Louise Schunemann, 84, of Cuero, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born July 16, 1933 in Florida to the late Claude R. and Lillian R. Dean-Miller. She married Harold Allen Schunemann on Oct 21, 1949 while he served his country in the Air Force. Betty and Harold loved traveling as they were stationed around the world. When they settled in Austin she became a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Tocker where she worked for over 20 years. After Dr. Tocker's retirement she worked in the photo lab and as a cashier for Wal-Mart in Bastrop. Betty spent her time drawing and sketching with charcoals, playing scrabble & working crosswords. She enjoyed telling stories of her past and traveling to new places. Betty loved to go to Delta Downs and Coushatta, LA. She was a member of the Bastrop VFW Post 12104 and would play darts and exchange stories with friends. Betty was a proud grandmother and would absolutely dote over the newest member of the family, Alice Michelle Davis.
Betty is survived by her son, Stephen Mitchell Schunemann of Rockport; grandchildren, Lesa Helweg , Bruce Helweg, Ashley Helweg-Davis, Jacob Helweg , Wes Helweg all of Cuero, Almon Loos Jr. of LosAngeles, CA, and Mitchell Schunemann of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Almon Rohan Loos and Alice Michelle Davis, Both of Cuero.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Susan Loos; son, Carl Allen Schunemann; sister, Martha L. Dean-Perry; brothers, William F. Dean, Harold V. Dean, and Clayton E. Dean.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
