Obituary

Billy "Bill" Wayne Laqua, 64, of Cuero passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. He was born January 8, 1953 in Cuero to the late Lester and Elnora Hilbrich Laqua. Bill married Vicky Juerk in Cuero on July 13, 1977. He was a rancher for the Stiles Cattle Company, Raymond Tate and also worked in the oil field. Bill loved spending time with his family, grandbabies and friends. He loved to be outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, BBQ's, splitting wood and working cattle and gardening. He loved spending time at his sister, Judy's place watching the wildlife. He liked riding his Harley anytime he could. He was the kind of person who would befriend anyone he met, he never met a stranger. He would always help anyone who was in need of help without a second thought. He loved listening to old rock n roll and old country music. Bill was a simple man that loved and enjoyed life. He is survived by wife; daughter, Tabitha Laqua Smith (Billy "BJ"); son, Dusty Laqua (Sharon Oehlke all of Cuero; sisters, Beatrice Kitten (Douglas) of Austin, Judy Drozd (Clarence) of Hallettsville, Linda Knox (Joseph "Ike") of Westhoff, Vivian "Tookie" Laqua of Cuero and Lois Patek (Johnny) of Yoakum; and brothers, Jimmy Laqua and Louis Laqua (Elizabeth) of Cuero; grandchildren, Hailey, Kylee, Brody and Braylee. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.Services will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastors, Boyce Laqua and David Zimmerman officiating. Interment to follow at Westhoff Cemetery. Pallbearers are Billy "BJ" Smith, Brad "BJ" Leopold, Clint Stiles, Jason Palacious, Leslie Drozd, Patrick Drozd. Honorary pallbearers are Isaac Bridges, Joe Saunders, Wes Ledwic, John Paul Koerth, Scott Koerth, Charles Koerth, Jr. and all of his nieces and nephews.
