Boyd "Joel" Griffin, 74, of Cuero passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 20, 2020. He was born July 10, 1946 in Wharton to Boyd and Sue Border Griffin. He married Gloria Ann Myers on October 21, 1983 in Carson City, Nevada. Joel was a people person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. Joel was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, golfing and golf spectating. He was a lover of animals, especially his sidekick - a white lab named "Happy."

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gloria Ann Griffin; sons, Austin Griffin of Lafayette, IN, Shannon (Mc Giusti) Griffin of Texas City and Neal Griffin of Victoria and sister, Judge Susan Lowery of Fulshear.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Griffin and Sue Border Hudgins.

The family will hold a private service of remembrance and celebration of life at a later date.
