Burnice Helen Krause Nolte, 87, of Westhoff, went to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, August 15, 2017. She was born May 14, 1930 to the late William (Bill) F. Krause and Olga Meyer Krause. Burnice married the love of her life, Roy H. Nolte, Sr. on July 15, 1950. She was a homemaker who loved her family and friends, but, mostly she loved her Lord and Savior. Her cooking was her greatest attribute. One or twenty people could show up at her house unexpected and in no time she would have a meal ready to be served, including dessert. Many times you could find her out working cattle or fixing fences with Roy Sr. And at those times she always had a picnic packed for the two of them to share together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Balusek (Larry) of Victoria and Karen Filip (Daniel) of Houston; sons, Roy H. Nolte, Jr. (Kathryn) of Victoria and Rodney Nolte (Roxann) of Katy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; son, Wayne A. Nolte; sisters, Vernell Logeman and Irene Hahn; brother, Elmo Krause; granddaughter, Lacy Nolte Hamburg; great-grandson, Silas Nolte. Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Westhoff with Reverend William Hill officiating . Interment to follow at Westhoff Cemetery. Pallbearers are Daniel Balusek, Danny Hurta, Steve Nolte, Todd Nolte, Dean Taylor Filip, and Patrick Hurta. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffery Hurta, Dustin Filip, Matthew Nolte, Wayne Nolte, Roy Nolte III, and Dana Filip Elsner. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Westhoff.
