Byrta Franklin, 70, of Cuero passed away Friday, March 23, 2012. She was born July 7, 1941 in Cuero to the late Elroy 'Sabe' and Ardelia Franklin. Byrta owned Byrta's Flower Shop serving Cuero with her beautiful creations for over 42 years.
She is survived by her sisters, Alice Brown and Josephine Franklin, both of Cuero and her brother, George Franklin and wife, Mary Ann, of Victoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Georgie B. Denson, Hazel Robinson, Arjorie Haynes, and Leona Johnson; and brothers, Elroy Franklin Jr., Billie Henderson, Amos Franklin, Sr., and Andy Franklin.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, March 26, 2012, 11 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Roy officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Elroy Denson, Andy Franklin, Y'Kuiam Denson, Amos Franklin Jr., Carlton Franklin, and Rayford Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers include Troy Duruisseau, John Denson, Quentel Denson, and Emilio Navarro.
