IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Callie Mae
Pakebusch
December 29, 1919 – July 7, 2018
Callie Mae Pakebusch, 98, of Cuero, passed away Saturday July 7, 2018. She was born December 29, 1919 to the late Alfred and Annie Rath Koenig. Mae was born the second of four children. She married the love of her life, Frank Pakebusch, on June 30, 1947 in Cuero. They were both lifelong residents of Cuero and members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Mae loved to work and see the people of Cuero. She spent many years serving ice cream to children at Dairy Queen and running a milk store called Moo-Moos Milk Shop. Her mother passed away at a young age, leaving Mae and her sister to care for their younger siblings. That maternal love continued when her sister had children. Mae loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She enjoyed getting together for the holidays, playing games, going to the river, and having picnics. Mae was a sweet and loving aunt, great aunt, great great aunt, and great great great aunt.
Mae is survived by her niece, Sandi Ries and nephews, Bubba and Travis Hermes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years; sisters, Stella and Alice; brother, Leroy; and niece, Barbara Weaver.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating. Interment will follow.
