Obituary
CUERO - Calvin Henry Bennett, 84, of Cuero, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009. He was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Cuero, to the late Dale E. Bennett and Lizzie Kelly. He was a boilermaker in the petrochemical industry and was in the U.S. Navy having served our country during WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Joan Bennett Bell of Alvin; stepdaughter, Linda Smith of Livingston; son, Mike Bennett of Alvin; stepson, Joe Sawyer of Mesquite; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Artie Mae Sawyer Bennett; son, Robbie Wayne Bennett; brother, Mike Bennett; step-great-granddaughter, Melissa Smith.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009, at Taylor Cemetery in Dewitt County with the Rev. Ray Payne officiating.
