Cartlotta Martinez, 94, of Cuero passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026. She was born December 27, 1931 in Cheapside to Bartholo and Tomasa Garza Martinez. Aunt Carlotta was a very special lady to everyone. She was a devoted catholic. She loved to sew quilts, her own clothes and make her very own tamales from scratch. We all grew up sharing our love and time with her. Rest in Peace - You will be forever missed by us all.

She is survived by her sisters, Maria Martinez, Adela Martinez and Severa Martinez; and her brothers, Anselmo Martinez, Louis Martinez, Pete Martinez Sr., Bartholo Martinez Jr. and Manuel Martinez and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers include Steven Sanchez, Larry D. Guerrero III, John Echols, Charlie Martinez, Christopher Rodriguez and Felix Rocha Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, 9:00 AM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 AM. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM with Father Caleb Krischke officiating. Interment will follow at San Miguel Cemetery in Thomaston.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Freund Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses or Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
