Charles T. Koenig was born June 16, 1944 in Cuero. He was the first child of Charles Louis Koenig Jr. and Mary Alice Tullos Koenig. Charles T. was called by the Lord on Dec. 22, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Pat. Charles T. was blessed with daughters, Sherry Koenig Buendel and her husband Kevin Buendel, and daughter, Marianne Stell Koenig, all of Cuero; and the light of his life, his granddaughter, Bryten Buendel. Charles is also survived by his brother, Richard O. Koenig of Tennessee.

Charles T. was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister, Judith Lynett Koenig.

Charles graduated from Cuero High School in 1962 and entered the Texas National Guard Armored Division. After the military Charles graduated from Del Mar Tech in 1966. Charles spent most of his career in automotive dealership in Corpus, Houston, Victoria, and Cuero. In 1987, Charles was able to realize his dream of living on the Green DeWitt home place at the Koenig Ranch. Charles loved the country and was steward of the land and rancher. Charles loved his church and volunteered at the Camal House. Charles was of the old school a man's word is his bond.

A celebration memorial service will be held Jan. 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lifeway Baptist Church in Cuero with Rev. Glen Moore officiating. Following the service a visitation will be held there at the church.
