Cleo Ruby Lee, 95, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011. She was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Yoakum, to the late Collier J. and Fannie (Pearce) McClanahan. She was a homemaker and she was a nurse's aide for 25 years.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Bitsy) of Thomaston, Billy (Nancy) of Rockport, John (Laurel) of Thomaston, Harold (Brynn) of Thomaston, and Jack of Cuero,; sister, Ethel Ellington of Cleveland; brother, Billie McClanahan of Corpus Christi; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, JR "Jack" Lee; and brothers, Douglas McClanahan, Mack McClanahan, and John Leo McClanahan.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 29, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Rev. David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Claude Lee, John E. Lee II, Harold Lee II, Wade Lee, Matthew Hartman, and John Crockett.
Honorary pallbearers are Pete Ellington and Kenneth Scheffler.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Michael's Catholic School.
