Corene G. Rush, 94, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. She was born November 30, 1922 in DeWitt County to the late Ettie Pearl O'Neill and Earnest F. Rush. Corene was a retired Corporal (E-4) in the United States Army and received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. She worked at TexTan Leather Company and was a night manager at Circle K. Corene was a horse trick rider and an active member of the Cuero V.F.W., RawHide Riders, and the American Legion of Cuero.


Corene is survived by her family, Gennie Perryman, Renee Wilke, D'Andrea Gallegher, and Alan Dennis.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; Charles Perryman; and best-friend and running buddy, Katy Dale.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery.
