Dalton Arthur Friedrichs (Papaw), 90, of Arneckeville, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of September 5, 2018. Dalton was born to the late Albert and Vera Junker Friedrichs on June 10, 1928 at his parent's home in Arneckeville.  He attended grades 1-8 in Arneckeville and grades 9-12 in Cuero, graduating high school in 1946.  Dalton married the love of his life, Eunice Ann Nagel, on August 6, 1950 in Cordele. They built a life together on the same land he was born on.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a devoted Christian.  Dalton was a farmer, rancher, master carpenter, and homebuilder.  He excelled at inventing whatever tool or implement that was needed to get the job done.  This led to earning his CB handle- "The Handyman".  Dalton's many hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, building and flying quarter scale radio controlled airplanes, sporting clays, and woodworking.

Dalton was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 62 years; and sister, Georgie Heyer.

He is survived by his sister, Elorine Hartman of Arneckeville; sons, Bruce Friedrichs of Wheelock and Bryan (Melanie) Friedrichs of Arneckeville; grandchildren, Sarah Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK, Wendee Eager of Corpus Christi, Alton Friedrichs of Houston, and Garrett Friedrichs of Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Grace, Jackson, and Max Shaw, Bryson Bayfus, and Olivia Eager.

The visitation service will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arneckeville with Pastor Barbara Beale officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Alton Friedrichs, Garrett Friedrichs, Gary Henneke, John Green, Doug Hartman, and Jeffrey Hartman.  Honorary pallbearers will include Bobby Heyer and Clifford Goebel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arneckeville or Arneckeville Community Center.
