Darlene Barber Bennett, 91, of Cuero passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. She was born August 4, 1924 in Cuero to the late Ferdie Lee and Alma Hare Barber. Darlene married the love of her life, Joe E. "Pig" Bennett, on June 2, 1942 in Cuero. She was baptized on March 28, 1954 at First Baptist Church in Cuero, along with her husband and son, Edward Lee. Darlene was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by daughter, Jolene Bennett White; sons, Edward Lee Bennett and Jimmy Bennett; sister, Glady Rusche; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; sister, Lola Tolbert; brothers, Hubert Barber, Derwood Barber, and Bruce Barber; and granddaughter, Lori Beth Bennett.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016, 10 a.m., at Hillside Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating.
