David A. Martinez, 47, of Cuero, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at DeTar Hospital in Victoria. He was born Jan. 31, 1963, in Cuero, to the late Anselmo "Sam" Martinez Sr. and Isabel Martinez. He was a general laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Martinez of Cuero; son, Matthew J. Martinez of Seguin; and sisters, Helen Villarreal of Cuero and Tommie Cavazos of Tivoli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Sam Martinez Jr. and Robert Martinez.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at San Miguel Cemetery in Thomaston.

Pallbearers will be Domingo Maldonado Jr., Linda Cavazos, Paz Trevino, Noe Barrera Jr., Markie Gonzales, and Joe Smolik.

Honorary pallbearers are Domingo Micheal Maldonado III, Matthew J. Martinez, and Davila facility and staff.
