David R. Saldaña, 47, of Cuero passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023.  He was born December 11, 1975 in San Antonio to Jesus Sr. and Refugia Rivera Saldaña.  He married Erica Maldonado on October 9, 2021in Cuero.  David loved his family.  He enjoyed grilling, barbecuing, listening to music and a cold beer.

He is survived by his wife, Erica; daughters, Sophia Aiyanna and Nayeli Celeste Saldaña both of San Antonio; son, David Aaron Saldaña of San Antonio; sisters, Sylvia (Randall) Jochim of Cuero, Grace (Mark) Linneman of Spring Branch, Nora (Roman) Gutierrez of McAllen and Norma (Jimmy) Steiner of San Antonio; brother, Jesse (Lupita) Saldaña Jr. of San Antonio; fur babies, dogs, Lucy, Cash and Hank; cats, Dolly and Tammy as well as sixteen nieces and nephews and thirty-three great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Saldaña Sr. and sister, Diana Limon.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023, 10:00 AM at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Roman Gutierrez officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Jose Cano, Jimmy Steiner, Lucas Warrington, John Aldaba, Jesse Saldaña Jr., David Aaron Saldaña and Roland Montes.

Honorary pallbearers include Randall Jochim, Mark Linneman, Richard Maldonado, Rick Maldonado, Cameren Maldonado and Alfonso Estrada.
