David Earl Wimbish, 85, of Cuero passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born November 5, 1937 in Cuero to Oscar Sr. and Callie Battles Wimbish Smith.  He was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church.  After graduating from Daule High School in Cuero, David proudly served in the United States Air Force.  David retired from Ful-O-Pep Feed Store after many years of service.

David leaves behind a daughter, Brenda (Rev. Frank) Harvey; grandchildren, Joseph (Crystal) Harvey of San Antonio and Nicole Harvey of Houston; great-grandchildren, London and Zeil Harvey of San Antonio; nieces, Janie Wimbish Kennedy, Wanda (Steven) Dryer and Katherine Lucas; and nephews, Darryl Wimbish and James (Mary) Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Oscar Wimbish Jr.; sister, Alice McGuffin Lucas; as well as his beloved wife, Lucy Thomas Wimbish and Gloretta Strait (mother of their daughter).

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, 9:00 AM at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
