Dennis M. "Bubba" Spears, 57, of Cuero passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was born July 9, 1954 in Cuero to Vernell K. Audilet and the late WT Spears. Bubba was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the highest ranking honor of Eagle Scout. He always loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping.

He is survived by his mother, Vernell Audilet of Cuero; son, Malone Spears of San Marcos; sister, Sandra Taylor and husband, Douglas, of Corpus Christi; and brothers, Bill Spears and wife, Janet, of San Antonio and Travis Spears and wife, Lorey, of Cuero. He had many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Others who were always close to his heart were the Pick family and all his many friends from the Thomaston River.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, donor's choice, or to his son, Malone Spears.

Bubba will be greatly missed by his family and all the many lives he touched.
