Diana Hildebrandt Zuber, 67, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018. She was born September 29, 1950 in Cuero to the late Edward H. and Louise Meyer Hildebrandt. Diana married Johnny Zuber on April 20, 1993. Diana was a fun, caring, and loving person who treasured her family and friends. She loved her job working as a nurse's aide for Cuero Home Health and helping residents as an in home nurse's aide at the Gulf Bend Center in Cuero. Diana's passion was helping and caring for people. She enjoyed shopping with friends and going to garage sales to find "treasures." Diana was a member at St. John Lutheran Church in Lindenau and loved her church family dearly. She enjoyed eating fried chicken, Chinese food, and Mexican food. She was known to say that the love of her life was her dog, Chloe. They enjoyed spending the day at the beach together. Diana will be missed by all her family and friends whom lovingly called her "Pooh" and "Aunt Mucha". May her spirit live on in their memories.
Diana is survived by her daughters, Marsha (David) Kuecker and Michelle Zuber Lilly; niece who was more like a daughter, Kim (David) Slovacek; nephew who was more like a son, Shane (Angela) Wyche; sons, Burton (Suzanne) Brown, Rodney (Sherri) Brown, Curtis Ray (Irene) Brown, Virgil (Paula) Brown, and Michael Zuber; sister, Geneva Ann Wyche; brother, Lynn (Joann) Hildebrandt; brother in law, Carlton West; niece who was more like sisters, Judy (Richard) DeLong; friends who were more like sisters, Carol Rau and Irene Mueller; cousins who were more like sisters, Joann Shows and Donna Shelton; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 13 years; sister, Shirley West; and brother in law, Ken Wyche.
The visitation was held June 2, 2018 at 9 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lindenau. The funeral service followed immediately at 10 a.m. with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment followed at Lindenau Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Dylan Slovacek, Carl "Bubba" West, Rodney Brown, Burton Brown, Chris DeLong, and Tom DeLong.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Lindenau.
