Donald L. Kann, 82, of Cuero passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was born October 29, 1934 in Cheapside to the late Fred and Amelia Hausmann Kann. He married Laura Harvey on July 27, 2013 in Cuero. Mr. Kann served in the United States Army during wartime from 1959 through 1962. After retiring as a Supervisor from Victoria Air Conditioning, he was self employed as a sheet metal mechanic. Mr. Kann was a certified minister and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and working in his shop. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Kann; sons, Keith Kann (Lili) of Cuero and Kenneth Kann (Alyssa) of Victoria; brother, Wilfred Kann; grandchildren, Kurticia Kann, Kiley Kann, Melinda Garibay (Eddy); 5 great granddaughters; numerous step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pearl Baskin and Ruby Hart; and brother Weldon Kann. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Funeral Services to begin at 10 a.m. with Pastor David Maldonado officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eddy Garibay Theo Vasquez, Joe Anzualda, Mark Owens, Michael Owens and Devyn Knox. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Schroeder, Jr., Jack Butler, Pete Martinez, Charlie Doreck and the D.Q. crew.
