Donald Frank Wanjura was born on November 30, 1940 in Cuero, Texas to Oscar and Melba Wanjura (both deceased). He is also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Frank Wanjura. In his 72 years, Donald served in the US Army as a gunner on a tank crew. His career included driving trucks, mechanics, and mostly hydrostatic testing for the Sanders, which took him from Florida to Alaska and across the United States, leaving an unsung legacy that only those closest to him will know. He loved life and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a patient and understanding father. He is survived by his loving son Lee Ray Wanjura, his wife Val; and his daughter Cynthia Sue Hamilton, her husband John, and their daughter Alexandra.
Funeral services to be held on Saturday, August 18 at 2:00 pm at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Interment to follow at Hillside.
