Donna Sue Rhame McMahan, 82, of Yoakum passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from heart complications.  She was born April 5, 1941 in Bee County to Elbert Rhame and Cora Alta Looney.  Donna moved to the Yoakum/Cuero area from the Rio Grande Valley in 1983 after her marriage to Bobby J. McMahan.  After many years of working in banks, she followed her dream of returning to school in her 40's and became a Registered Nurse.  She loved caring for patients at Cuero Hospital and Cuero Nursing Home.  She retired to care for Bobby until his passing in 2016.

Donna has a lifelong love of all animals, especially her yorkies.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, board games and cards with friends and family.  She was also an avid reader.  She cherished time spent with her family, trips to the beach and loved sunsets.  Most recently her great-granddaughter brought her much joy and happiness.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Startz (Carrie) and Charles Startz (Sheila); granddaughter, Kelly Startz Ford (Jonathan); grandsons, Darren Startz, Blake Startz and Brett Startz; great-granddaughter, Rylee Ford; step-son, Jeff McMahan (Denise); step-daughter, Linda Peterek (Ray); step-granddaughters, Nicole, Miranda and Mikayla; four step-great-grandsons; brother-in-law, Jimmy McMahan (Sue) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patsy Hennesey; second husband, Bobby J. McMahan and her brother, Felix Rhame.

To respect Donna's wishes, her family will scatter her ashes on a later date at South Padre Island.
