Our lives changed forever on May 25th, 2019. Heaven gained the Angel with the Brightest Halo & the Biggest Wings.... Dora Carrisalez of Thomaston, Texas, at age 67.

Dora was born in Cuero, Texas, on July 7th, 1951, to the late Damacio R. Hernandez Sr. and the late Natividad "Maria" (Sertuche) Hernandez.

Dora was a graduate of Cuero High School, Class of 1969. She began her career as a Manager at Moo-Moo's Drive Inn. She moved out of the fast food industry and joined Bottom Dollar as a Sales Clerk. She then continued her career as a Sales Clerk for Western Auto. Then to Stanley's and finally, she was hired on at Reuss Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Clerk. She cherished her work family for 23 years. Through her dedicated years of service, she met and greeted countless customers of whom she befriended with her warm and caring heart.

Dora was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She married her longtime friend and love of her life, Henry Carrisalez, on January 3rd, 1975, then received the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on January 1st, 2000. She treasured her 44 years of marriage with her Hon, Henry. They have a daughter, Felicia Marie Carrisalez, and spouse, Josh Ogle. She embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma to her precious Adysen. The love of her Granddaughter was her heart and soul. They spent every moment together. From dance competitions and recitals, story-telling, attending church, manicures...you name it and they did it, and it didn't matter the time of day or night and hour. She also enjoyed creating memories with her siblings, whether it was barbecues, phone calls or texts. She had a beautiful, infectious smile that always made people around her feel welcomed and loved and hugs to warm your heart.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents and brothers, Joe R. Hernandez and Johnny Hernandez.

Her siblings are: Gloria Millsap, Damacio Hernandez Jr. (Margie), Maria De Los Santos (Refugio), Guadalupe Hernandez (Ivonne), Jessie Hernandez (Elizabeth), Theresa H. Gonzales (Chris), and Carmelita H. Veliz (Tacho).

Active Pallbearers will be Josh Ogle, Guadalupe Hernandez, Jessie Hernandez, Damacio Hernandez Jr., Christopher Lee Gonzales, Anastacio 'Tacho' Veliz Jr., Joey Hernandez and Andy Trevino.

Visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 5pm - 7pm, with the Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm.

The Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 10am. Interment will follow at Carrisalez Cemetery in Thomaston.
