Doris Diebel Schmidt went to her Lord and Savior on August 9, 2020.  She was the daughter of Richard V. and Bertha Hartman Diebel.  She was born in Meyersville on January 16, 1928 and passed at the age of 92 years.

She married Lewis Arlyn (Coke) Schmidt and they celebrated 60 years of marriage and had three beautiful children.  She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, loved to work in the yard and especially loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Carl) Vondohlen; sons, Phil (Peggy) Schmidt and Mark (Norma) Schmidt; six grandchildren, Troy (Skandy) Schmidt, Shasta Vonderau (Charles Hroch), Kristen (Aaron) Bradley, Lauren (Drayton) Caylor, Ciara Schmidt and Chloe Schmidt; six great-grandchildren, Tristyn and Shiyla Schmidt, Stella Vonderau, Brooke Zapata and Gavin and Gauge Caylor; sister-in-laws, Ruby Bateman and Evelyn Diebel.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister.

The family would like to thank her caregivers and Harbor Hospice employees, Brenda Coon RN, Kari Micklin RN, Jayme Huff RN, Chelas Ecby RN, Melissa Diaz CAN, Raquel Canales CAN, Kaleigh Green CNA, Carey Davis and Rodney Coleman.

Private burial service is under the direction of Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Pearson officiating.  Pallbearers will be Phil Schmidt, Troy Schmidt, Shasta Vonderau, Tristyn Schmidt, Leland Truax and Darrell Wehlmann.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice or First English Lutheran Church.
