Doris Marie Harwood Schroller, 82, of Cuero died Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She was born December 21, 1928 in DeWitt County to the late Garland Joseph and Lela Mae Manning Harwood. She married Alvin Otto Schroller on June 29, 1947 in Cuero. She was confirmed on June 18, 1950. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Cuero for 63 years. She taught Sunday school and belonged to Women's group and other programs in church. She worked at Sears for 10 years and worked in the courthouse tax office for six years. Later she worked with her husband doing electrical work for 18 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Alvin O. Schroller; daughter, Joyce A. Schroller of Cuero; grandchildren, Richard D. Bade and wife, Jodie of Austin; great-grandchildren, Luke Richard Bade and Neko Bade; Dr. Mary Kristin Bade; sisters, Melba O. Huska and husband, Johnny, and Judy Harwood of Wimberley; and sister-in-law, Anita Harwood and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Allan Wayne Schroller; and brother, J.W. Harwood.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Friday, June 3, 2011, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Karl Biermann officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers include Douglas Flessner, Gary Huska, Keith Harwood, Richard Bade, Jeremy Flessner, and Kyle Flessner.
Honorary pallbearers include Jodie Bade, Dr. Mary Kristin Bade, Dr. Raymond Reese, Mel and Teresa Sweatman, France Kesling and Edward and family, and Don and Sarah.
