Doris Elois Rabke Prewett, 91, of Cuero passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011. She was born October 30, 1920 in DeWitt County to the late Edward Theodore Rabke & Nannie Elizabeth Murray Rabke. She married the late Marshall E. Prewett on December 19, 1954 at Rabke Methodist Church in Ratcliff. She taught elementary school for 40 years and enjoyed painting landscapes and writing poetry.

She is survived by her nieces, Kathryn Sharman of Houston, Susan Miller (T.A.) of Wimberley, Nell Black (Lindy) of San Antonio, Dorothy Kidd of Beeville, Becky Hanys of Edna, & Jackie Stock of Yorktown; nephews, Edward Gips (Beverly) of Yorktown, Douglas Gips (Darla) of Houston, & Dale Murray (Becky) of Yorktown; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Iva Lee Morrow, Lanell Rabke, & Elaine Gips; and nephews, Murray Asher & Glen Gips.

Services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at Rabke Methodist Church with Reverend Don Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Rabke Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Douglas Gips, Michael Miller, Eric Hanys, Mitch Meyer, & Tom Ellis.

Honorary Pallbearers include T. A. Miller, Dale Murray, Edward Gips, & Doug Gips.
