Dorothy Jean Franklin, 74, of Cuero passed away Monday, August 13, 2012. She was born May 3, 1938 in Cuero to Isaac and Ernestine Blackwell Reed. She married her beloved husband Amos Franklin Sr., on November 8, 1957. She enjoyed sewing, reading the bible, and all the children.

She is survived by her daughters, Elva Eggins and husband, Don, of Cuero, and Dorothy D. Franklin and husband, Willie, of Houston; son, Amos Franklin Jr. of Cuero; Sisters, Margaret Taylor, of Corpus; Irovy Jean Chapman, Fats Reed, and Bootie Reed, all of Victoria; brothers, Herbert reed, Alvin Reed, Calvin Reed, and Leroy Reed, all of Victoria, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Pallbearers include Carlton Franklin, Ronald Coleman, Reggie McNary, Omar Littles, and Pervis King.

Honorary pallbearers include Troy Duruisseau, John Denson, Kevie Franklin, Broderick Franklin, Clarence 'Jerome', Accolade Hospice Nurses, and Don Eggins.

Visitation Wednesday, August 15, from 6-8 pm at Freund Funeral Home. Service Thursday August 16, at 11 am at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Parr officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
