Obituary
Dottie Jean Strain, 84, made her final journey to her heavenly home September 20, 2011. Dottie was born Aug. 21, 1927 in Jefferson County, Missouri to Adam Hadley Jones and Lela L. Christian Jones.
Dottie accompanied husband Don on his overseas career from 1969-93 in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, North Africa, West Africa, Columbia, Ecuador, and Oman. After retiring, Don and Dottie enjoyed sharing their lakeview home with family and friends. Joined again, they will continue their fairy tale life in their heavenly home.
Dottie was preceded in death by husband, Donal E. Strain. She is survived by daughter, Donna and Darryl J. Berger of Cuero, son, Danny and Sharon Striedel Strain of Seguin, granddaughters, Deborah and Tim Bourland, Deanna and Lt. Col. Steve Greiner, DVM., Sherie and Thad (Bubba) Dickson, grandsons, D.J. and Elizabeth Berger, and Darren and Lindsay Strain, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, September 26, 2011, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barbara Beale officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Darren Strain, Thad Dickson, Steve Greiner, D.J. Berger, Jacob Greiner, & Larry Grigg.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Bourland & Keith Richardson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Guadalupe County Humane Society or Donor's Choice.
