Obituary
Earl Mathis, 77, of Cuero, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at Triumph Hospital in Victoria. He was born July 17, 1932, in Cuero, to the late Joe Mathis and Delores Olivia Ross Mathis. He was employed with Mt. Vernon Mills in Cuero.
He is survived by his sons, Charles Ray, Royceton Nichols, and Carlos Griffin, all of Cuero; sister, Betty Mathis of Cuero; brothers, Alfred Joe Mathis of Cuero, Thomas Mathis of Victoria, and Ervin Mathis of Houston; and granddaughter, Elyana Griffin of Cuero.
Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Rev. Lawrence G. Roy will officiate.
