Edmund Michalek, 78, of Yorktown, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. He was born in Runge Texas, on December 11, 1934 to Rudolph Michalek and Minnie Waltersdorf. He married his beloved, Shirley Giesalhart on May 15, 1980. He is survived by his daughter; Vernadette Michalek of San Antonio, sons; Edmund Michalek of San Antonio, and Rudy Michalek, of Cuero, brothers, Edwin Lee Michalek of Cuero, August Michalek of San Antonio, Leon Michalek, of Giddings, and Frank Michalek of Port O'Connor, sisters; Bernice Hargrove of Cuero, Doris Buesing of Nordheim, and Helen Serece of Cuero. He is preceded in death by his parents; Rudolph and Minnie Michalek. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at 1st Baptist Church in Yorktown. Interment will follow at Nordheim Cemetery.
