Edna Markmann, 104, of Westhoff passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017. She was born July 28, 1913 in Westhoff to the late Thomas William and Emma Schulle Hahn. She married her husband, Ottwald Carl Markmann on March 17, 1950 in Westhoff. Edna was an active in the Luther League and choir as a young lady, and later taught Sunday school and served as secretary of the St. John Lutheran Church in Westhoff. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Janet Thaxton and husband, Bob, of Seguin; grandchildren, Leslie Christine Casas of Seguin; and great-granddaughter, Rochelle Christine Casas of Seguin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Robert Hahn, George T. Hahn, Paul Hahn, and Herman Hahn.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 26, 2017, 10:30 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in Westhoff with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Westhoff Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ray Gloor, Paul Hahn, Travis Fromme, Lynn Nessel, Harland Schenkler, and Charles Hahn. Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Barker, Olivia Wisdom, and all nieces and nephews.
