Elda Jane "Janie" "Granny" Rangnow, 80, of Cuero passed away Monday, February 1, 2016. She was born July 16, 1935 in Cuero to Henry and Annie Borgfeld. Elda Married Henry E. Rangnow on August 24, 1952 in Yorktown.She is survived by daughter, Valarie "Cookie" Denney (Kenney) of Runge; son, Henry L Rangnow (Kathy) of Cuero; brothers, Henry Borgfeld (Lorna) of Yorktown and Alton Borgfeld (Erna) of Karnes City; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sharon Najvar; and great granddaughter, Katherine. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Tim Muehlbrad officiating.Pallbearers will be Buck Rangnow, Chad Rangnow, Charlie Rangnow, Kenney Denney, Trey Schuenemann and Dwane Borgfeld.Memorial Contributions may be made to donor's choice.
