Elizabeth Lillie Eicher Mainka, 84, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She was born October 25, 1930 in Sweet Home to the late John Eicher and Marie Novak Eicher. She married the love of her life, Alex Mainka, on November 22, 1955 in Sweet Home. She loved tending, canning, cooking her home grown fruits and vegetables, and caring for farm animals. She was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and always enjoyed going to church picnics. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Bilbrey (Doyle) of Alice, Karen Palmer (Rex) of Cuero, Lois Lemke (Brad) of Victoria; son, Harvey Mainka (Mona) of Cuero; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; sister, Mary Ulcak; brothers, Emil Eicher, Johnny Eicher, Benny Eicher, Rudy Eicher, and Laddie Eicher. Visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6-8 pm with a rosary to begin at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 3:30 pm with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at 4:30 pm at Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers include Derek Bilbrey, Dustin Mainka, Brandon Mainka, Kyle Lemke, Tommy Tollett, Jamie Whitehead, and Bob Mullen. Honorary pallbearers include Larissa Palmer, Dawni Tollett, and Devon Mullen. Memorial contributions may be made out to St. Michael's Catholic Church in memory of Elizabeth Mainka.
